Changes

Death, divorce, and moving are the three most traumatic events in our lives and this is true for our pets as well. They are often displaced because of these major life changes.

Make provision for your pets. Find a surrogate a friend, relative or rescue group who will take your animals in the event of your death. Carry the information in your wallet and place the information in your will or personal effects. If possible, designate some money for your pets lifetime care.

In the event of a divorce, please think of your pet as a family member that must be provided for. Do not move until you can take your animals with you.

When you move, make every effort to find a place that takes pets. Call your local animal control shelter of humane society/SPCA. They often have lists of available pet friendly homes. The same is true if you move out of state.
