Available Danes
"Jett"

Jett is an approximately 2 - 3 year old black, neutered male. He is current on vaccinations and a very sweet boy that got rave reviews from the technicians at the vet clinic for his good temperament. Not much is known about him as he was taken away from his owner in a neglect situation. He must have lived on rough surfaces as he has a calloused tail, calluses on his feet and elbows. He is a bit on the thin side and could stand to gain a few pounds. His personality is just great and he is a sweet boy, very social, friendly and just a big lug of a dog. He loves other dogs. Cats are unknown.
If interested in Jett, contact Colleen at cleahy1955@yahoo.com. We are looking for an adult only/older children household.
PRIVATE ADOPTIONS:
Dogs listed below are not at the rescue facility, but rather still in their own homes waiting for someone to adopt them.
Their owners have asked us to help them find new, loving homes and we post these dogs as a courtesy but will not
help sell any dog; they are not for sale, rather re-homing adoption.
***There is no charge for Danes in private adoption, as GDRNC does not help people sell their Danes.
When you call or email these owners about their Danes, if they attempt to charge for these dogs, please notify
us immediately; this is not our policy. Please read the entire post to see who you need to contact if you are
interested in one of these dogs.
Unless specified in the description, please do not call Colleen or any other
rescue contact person as they have no further information than what is posted.
There is no fee for Private Adoptions
"Boone"
Boone is a 6 year old Great Dane who needs a new home. Here is what his owner has written about him:
Boone is a 6 year old Mantle Great Dane who has been with our family since he was a puppy. We have loved and enjoyed him for many years. Unfortunately, as our family has grown, so has our need for a larger home and through a long painful process, we have been unable to find a home that will allow us to have the two dogs that we own. We are hoping to find a happy home for Boone where he can get plenty of love and attention. He is a super sweet boy but very needy and absolutely loves being around people. He is very active and energetic for a Great Dane and needs either plenty of space to play in a yard or someone who is able to give him lots of walks on a daily basis. He is friendly with people but also protective and will bark when the doorbell rings, mailman comes, etc. We have two small children who he has been great around. He does get excited easily and sometimes jumps up on us to give kisses...something that you aren't always prepared for! He definitely is a goofy dog.
Boone is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He has spent the majority of his life around another Great Dane female who is going to a family member so I know he would welcome being around another (preferably) large dog. He has lived both in a busy city as well as a few years in the country and can easily adapt to new situations. He loves riding in cars and sticking his head out the windows.
It is our hope that Boone finds a wonderful home with someone who truly enjoys a companion dog and has the time and dedication to offer him. He is truly a joy and it is very difficult to think about parting with him but I believe he will make someone very happy. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Lea at leegeecee@hotmail.com. Thanks for your interest!"

Maxwell

This is a four year old black, neutered boy that needs a new home. His current owner (his second) reports major separation anxiety, and anxiety in general. He currently lives with two full time employed people, and it is not working out. He is looking for a home with someone who is home more than they are gone, and a female canine friend to hang out with. He does not like Golden Retrievers/Laboradors but has been ok around other breeds. He is timid around new people, and takes a while to warm up after he barks and runs away. He is especially timid around men, but can warm up with a nice man who will give him space and go slow.
This poor dog is very thin, VERY thin. His owner has had him checked out at her vet and he eats, but cannot put the weight on. He is housebroken, but has recently reverted back to his non-housebroken state. His owner says he is an unhappy dog and they feel he will do better in a new home. He lived previously with another elderly dog and did fine. He is not good meeting new people, so don't expect him to welcome you with open arms. He takes time to acclimate.
We don't want to soft-sell this dog, he is a "project" dog and will take work, patience and dog -smarts. No children or cats, please. Another happy dog (female only) would help this guy (we hope) learn to relax and blend into his environment.
