Great Dane Rescue of Northern California is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and placing unwanted, stray, or otherwise relinquished Great Danes in the greater Northern California region.

 

Top ten reasons to adopt an adult Great Dane:

Housetrained! Older  dogs are housetrained, meaning you won't have to go through the difficult stages of teaching a puppy house manners and cleaning up after those accidents!

	Chewing! Older dogs are not teething puppies, and won't chew up your shoes, furniture, etc. like a growing puppy would.
	Focus! Older dogs can focus well, because they've mellowed, making them fast learners.
	Knows "NO"! Older dogs have learned what "NO!" means. If they hadn't, they wouldn't have gotten to be "older" dogs.
	Settled! Older dogs settle in easily, because they've learned what it takes to get along with others and become part of a pack.
	Loving! Older dogs are good at giving love. Once they get into their new homes they are grateful for the second chance they've been given.

	Instant companionship! Older dogs are instant companions, ready for hiking, car trips, and pretty much anything you like to do.

	Sleep! Unlike puppies, older dogs let you get a good night's sleep because they've become accustomed to human schedule and don't require nighttime attention.

Happy 20th Anniversary to Great Dane Rescue of Northern California, Inc. Betty Thomas and Colleen Leahy joined forces to form GDRNC in April of 1989. Twenty years and still going strong!

Volunteer needed!  We need volunteers for all kinds of Dane help. If you can help out with transportations, overnight dog-sitting, pick-ups and drop-offs,  internet research, etc. we need you. Please sign up as a volunteer! email  cleahy1955@yahoo.com
